Welcome to Dr. Cinque's Health Retreat - Fasting Center & Resort

Hello. I am Dr. Ralph Cinque (pronounced Sin-kay). Welcome to my website. I operate a business from my home that is called Dr. Cinque's Health Retreat. It is one of the few recognized fasting centers in the United States. I have been supervising fasts since 1976, having trained with Dr. Herbert Shelton in San Antonio, Texas, and with Dr. Alec Burton in Sydney, Australia. Guests come here to fast to lose weight, to detoxify, and to overcome various health problems. Fasting is not as difficult as you might think, and I do all I can to make it a comfortable experience for everyone. Fasting is also an excellent way to overcome bad habits and make a fresh start at a healthy lifestyle. I am a graduate of UCLA and Western States Chiropractic College, having been licensed to practice in three states. I am also a founding member and past president of the International Association of Hygienic Physicians. After fasting, the eating program centers around fresh fruits and vegetables and other natural, unprocessed, vegetarian foods. Much of the food is organically grown, and seasonally, we have our own organic vegetable garden. We also have excellent provisions for exercising, but only after fasting- it is advisable to rest and relax while fasting. Letting go of stress is also important while fasting, and the atmosphere here is very peaceful, relaxing, and stress-free. All in all, I try to offer everyone who comes here a restful and rejuvenating experience in a recuperative environment, and I hope that it will be the start of a new and better way of life for each of them. My assistant in running the retreat is Linda Hadley (pictured with me below). Linda has been a student of natural healing for many years. She is also an excellent vegetarian cook who puts loving care into everything she prepares for our guests. Bio: Dr. Cinque graduated from UCLA in 1972 and Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon in 1976. I have been working in the health retreat business all of my adult life. After graduating, I worked for two years with the renowned Dr. Herbert Shelton in San Antonio, Texas from 1976 to 1978. I later did a second residency with the esteemed Dr. Alec Burton in Sydney, Australia in 1989. I founded the Hygeia Health Retreat in Yorktown, Texas in 1979 which operated until 1994. Since April 1, 1995 I have been the director of Dr. Cinque's Health Retreat located at 305 Verdin Drive, Buda, Texas 78610 . (Buda is a small rural community 5 miles south of Austin.
